Ingredients

  • Zingerman's bread of your choice (available in store at Weekends!)

  • Fresh fruit of choice

  • Powdered sugar (optional)

Frosting:

  • 1teaspoon vanilla

  • 3 cups powdered sugar, plus more as needed

Directions:

  1. In large bowl, beat softened butter and cream cheese with electric mixer on medium speed 2 to 3 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally, until smooth and creamy.

  2. Stir in vanilla, then stir in powdered sugar. Add more powdered sugar as needed until frosting is a thick spreadable consistency.

  3. Toast desired number of slices of bread in the toaster or on the grill.

  4. Spread cream cheese frosting on warm toast and top with fresh fruit! (we liked arranging the fruit into an American flag for our cottage guests!)

  5. Top with powdered sugar (optional)

  6. Enjoy!
